Passon Saffron, St. Louis Park, formerly of Duluth, passed away peacefully May 21, 2006 surrounded by her family. Lillian was born and resided in Duluth for most of her life. Lillian always had a positive outlook on life. She taught us volumes about the will to live with grace, humor, faith, and dignity. Her family enriched her life and she, theirs. She was a member of Adath Israel Congregation in Duluth. Preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; parents, Sam-Elsie Mastoon, and brother, Dr. Morris Passon. Survivors include, children Robert (Ellen) and Jan Saffron- Johnson (Tom) of Mpls.; her four loving grandchildren, Aaron and Todd Johnson, and Molly and Katie Saffron; her beloved nieces and nephews, who were like her own children, Linda Passon-McNally (Bernie), Susan Taran (Barry), and Warren Mastoon (Sharon); and her dear sister-in-law, Fritzie Passon. Lillian loved and cherished her great nieces and nephews, Jess, Elizabeth, and Matt Taran, Syril McNally, Lisa Pritchard (Eric) and Adam Mastoon ( Andy), and her beloved friend, Dr. Steven Hornstein. Lillian always had a positive outlook on life. She taught us volumes about the will to live with grace, humor, faith, and dignity. Her family enriched her life and she, theirs. Lillian was born and resided in Duluth for most of her life. She was a member of Temple Israel in Mpls. Funeral services TUESDAY (TODAY) 10:00 AM TEMPLE ISRAEL, 2324 Emerson Ave. So. Interment will take place in Duluth. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Joanne Blindman Nursery School Scholarship Fund at Temple Israel or The Sholom Community Alliance.
